ADOBE ACROBAT CONNECT PROFESSIONAL (formerly "BREEZE" )

Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional a.k.a. 'Breeze' is a web conferencing tool from Adobe/Macromedia that Penn State University is providing to faculty and staff to conduct online meetings/trainings/collaboration.

Each College is allotted a number of Acrobat Connect/Breeze 'licenses' that can be assigned to individuals within a department who can then 'create' the initial meetings from http://breeze.psu.edu.

An authorized person within a COE department can submit requests for someone to become a meeting creator by completing the Breeze/Adobe Connect Meeting Creator Request /Change Form.

Faculty and staff can be identified as 'hosts' of any meeting. They can then complete the meeting process by including their own meeting information, set up meeting screen layouts, upload files/presentations, and inviteattendees.

An Acrobat Connect/Breeze 'meeting' can be used more than once. For example, for regular committee meetings, a Breeze meeting could be created and used monthly to conduct the online meeting.

OR

  • Adobe is aware that the 'Test Your Computer' link on the Penn State breeze site is not working, but it won't be fixed in the current version of the application.
  • The next version is tentatively scheduled for release in December/January 2007.
  • The University recommends that you link directly to this Adobe Breeze server. The link will check to be sure that the necessary plug-ins (like Flash Player) are installed on your computer; however, information provided about the bandwidth test will not be reliable as it will be the Adobe server rather than the Penn State server
  • The University has posted a listing of known issues and requested features related to Breeze Meeting.
  • You can refer to this listing to find documented issues or problems that are being addressed by Adobe and possible timeframes.

  • Adobe/Macromedia's Acrobat Connect/Breeze Help files are very in-depth and informative. These are accessible from within the application, or you may use the above link.
