Training & Support Responsibilities


My position as Coordinator for Administrative Support Systems in the College of Engineering here at Penn State involves coordinating and conducting training as well as providing software support for our College faculty and staff on supported network and locally-installed computer software. We currently support over 1,400 users on our College's Microsoft network. We provide computer software training and/or support on a variety of Windows and Macintosh software programs [Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, Frontpage, Publisher, Outlook, etc.), WordPerfect for Windows, Windows & MAC operating systems, Adobe Photoshop Elements, Dreamweaver].  In addition, we provide training on College network services/functionality and network communication capabilities [Outlook, Eudora, Internet/Web usage (Internet Explorer/Firefox/Netscape).  We also support faculty and staff on the various University systems such as the IBIS/ISIS Systems, University Data Warehouse, Financial Information Tool (FIT), VoIP phone system implementation, Breeze/Adobe Acrobat Connect web conferencing, and other system applications.

Our  training lab is located in 153J Hammond Building, and is equipped with 10 Pentium machines and 1 Apple G3 for training purposes. To obtain more information about the training and support services that we provide to our faculty and staff, see our Training Home Page.
