PLEASE NOTE: Previous tips concerning keyboard shortcuts may still work in 2007; in addition, tips that involve using the lower Office version’s ‘menu’ options may have an equivalent function in 2007 using the new Ribbon and OFFICE button (that replaces the previous menu/toolbars). We will be revising our Software Tips pages as part of our upcoming web redesign and we’ll make necessary additions at that time.
TIP #1 - SHORTCUT TO EXPAND/COLLAPSE NAVIGATION PANE OPTIONS You can expand and collapse the Navigation Pane options quickly by doublicking on the Object headings (Tables, Queries, Forms, Reports, Macros, Modules) in the Navigation Pane. This is an on/off toggle. Doubleclick to expand, then doubleclick to collapse. Another way to expand/collapse listings in the Navigation Pane is to click on the double arrow icons in the Pane. Click to expand/click to collapse (toggle). TIP #2 - RELINK TABLES WHEN CHANGES ARE MADE TO LINKED TABLES When tables are 'linked' in Access, if changes are made to the tables (if new fields are added, etc.) you must 'relink' the tables to effect the change and be able to see the changes in the table(s). Below are the steps to relink if you're using Access 2007 RELINK your tables whenever changes are made on Data Warehouse
NOTE: Users using version Access 2003, please refer to Access 2003 Tips for instructions to relinking tables made on Data Warehouse. |
